Some sketches of a "coming soon" FERAL character.
I'm excited about this guy! He's an indentured servant in the late 1600s to early 1700s time period. Kind of simple minded but underneath the surface, he knows quite a bit. He might end up being a scientist or something, too, but I don't know yet.
His name's probably going to be Filip, or Phineas... (Help me decide? Please?)

It's Mizuki and Ichiro. I love them...and I like drawing Ichiro because he's always being sweet, that's just how his character is.

Hello...
Just thought I would leave a note here, I will probably be continuing "Mizuki" soon so everybody better watch out. FERAL will be coming around too, I promise!! I've been having some falling-outs with deviantArt and the verdict is that it still doesn't work properly for me, so if I keep putting stuff online it will be through this sketchbook...I've made a lot of anime-type crap over the past semester and it's still far from improving, but it's a start. I'd like to keep my old style while working with this one (because I like the story format...Mizuki Aiko just wouldn't be as cute if it were a regular All-American comic). Maybe I'll go back to Yuko and Kif one day? I've tried and tried again to comic-ize that story, and I always failed...I want it to have a realistic style and yet still look like a fantasy...so we will see. It will definitely be a challenge if I'm ever up for it. Oh, if only there wasn't so much practice involved.
Speaking of practice, I need to get back into the habit of sketching properly so that is what I have been doing. I have a painting and some photos and things that I would like to put up if I get a chance (I see the convenience of digital cameras now that I've started using large canvases). But I'm lazy and scanning is a chore to me except when I'm in comic-land. Things will change...one can hope.
I don't think anybody is reading this but I thought I'd provide a little explanation. :)

Here's the bonus manga I'm doing while Summer Rain is on hold...It was a random idea I got while driving behind a cement mixer on the highway. Weird how these things happen. Anyway, I'm putting it on here too just so I can add a few words about each page, and maybe if you're bored or interested enough, you'll enjoy it too. :) (side-smile. see??)
Here's the cover. Um...I like the borders? And the text, and everything else that isn't really mine. I think that picture of Mizuki is perfectly hideous. But that didn't register while I was drawing it, so oh well. These textures and screentones came from a GREAT site where you can download them for free, here. Hooray!
I really loved how Ichiro came out. His eyes are a little too dark, but I think his pretty jacket somehow makes up for it. Feathers! Roses! Brush-happy! I didn't know what else to put there.
I like this page too. Mizuki is lying on her bed, that's why she's upside down...well, I thought it was creative.
I really, really liked that panel with Mizuki's legs and her bedroom, I don't know why, but it was a lot of fun.
She does so love Ichiro.
